WHAT WE DO

At Belmont Performance we provide sports coaching and testing without compromise. An alternative for performance where coaching and testing is informed by science and implemented with an understanding of the complex relationship that sport has within all our lives.

We use the latest scientific research to inform your training for any endurance sport. Furthermore, in-house testing at our lab in Bristol provides you with accurate data to best design a programme to fit you and your needs to ensure specificity to your goals. 

WHO ARE WE?

Three best friends, we are Max, Freddie and Charlie. All of us have raced at an international level and all of us have a deep fascination with sports science and exercise physiology. Belmont Performance is us aiming to bring our experience through science backed, personal coaching to help you achieve your fitness or sporting goals. Whether it is cycling, running, triathlon or any other endurance sport for that matter, we want to make your goals your reality.

Performance Coach

Hi I'm Max, a recently retired professional cyclist with 10 years of experience racing at a high level internationally, achieving 13 UCI wins along the way, with teams from the UK, Italy, and Turkey. Alongside this I have a BSc in Sports and Health Sciences from the University of Exeter and 6 years of professional coaching expertise from amateurs up to Pro Continental riders - both women's and mens as well as being brought up in a family steeped in running. I like to blend science with empathy to support athletes and teams in achieving optimal performance. Having represented Great Britain on multiple occasions, I’ve gained invaluable insight into the leading edge of sports science and I love carrying this knowledge and experience into the coaching we at Belmont Performance provide to you.

Charlie Lacaille

Performance Coach

Hi I’m Charlie, I have been coaching high performance athletes for the past 5 years as well as being a consultant to World Tour teams leading to multiple grand tour stage wins. Alongside my coaching experience I have a Master Degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol providing me with an excellent knowledge of human physiology and a deep understanding of scientific research papers. I have raced and won at a UCI and domestic level over my own personal racing career and thrive creating a positive environment for others to achieve their goals!

Freddie Grover

Development Coach & Commercial Director

Hi I’m Freddie, I’ve raced for over 10 years recently stepping up to UCI Continental level with Canadian team, X-Speed United. Throughout my racing career I have had a keen interest in sports science and exercise physiology compounded by being coached by Charlie. I studied Geography at the University of Bristol whilst cycling and working part time, so understand how hard training can be for the time crunched athlete. I’m so excited to head up the development programme at Belmont Performance as I have really seen the benefit a good coach - athlete relationship can have across all aspects of your life.
